The 4th Plinth, London

Directing Henning across the square
On the 29th of September I took part in Anthony Gormley’s Fourth Plinth Project in Trafalgar Square London. For my hour on the plinth Edwin Morgan (the National Poet of Scotland) had provided me with a selection of his favourite works to be read to those gathered in the Square below. Of these the poem Cinquevalli, a long favourite of Morgans to read to audiences will be presented, as will works from Sonnets from Scotland itself such as ‘The Coin’ and poems from the Planet Waves Series, and of course the Glasgow Sonnets at the poets specific request. I also spent my time on the Plinth taking a series of new ‘Sonnets’ shots to be auctioned for charity for the Yorkhill Childrens Hospice.
You can watch the full hour on Sky Arts here
Here is a full list of which poems were read:
The Second Life, From a City Balcony, Cinquevalli, When you go, Strawberries, The Flowers of Scotland, The Apple’s Song, First Men on Mercury, Glasgow Sonnets, Sonnets from Scotland (Slate, The Coin),Planet Wave (In the beginning, The Flood), Surrealism Revisited.
This surely makes great sense!!!
What a truly incredible article.
